Anecoop makes progress in sustainability, consolidates its ECOVADIS silver medal and rises in the global ranking

The agri-food cooperative improves its rating in 2025 and ranks among the top 8% of companies in terms of sustainability according to this demanding assessment

On its 50th anniversary, Anecoop has achieved another significant milestone in its firm commitment to sustainability, a strategic priority in the decision-making process of this second-degree agri-food cooperative. This is evidenced by the recognition achieved following the recent assessment carried out by EcoVadis, a trusted global provider of corporate sustainability ratings, with a network of more than 150,000 companies assessed in over 185 countries.

In 2025, the Group renews the Silver Medal it obtained in June 2024 and climbs positions in the global ranking by improving its score from 70 points in 2024 to 76 points in the last 18 months. This result places Anecoop in the 92nd percentile, positioning it among the top 8% of companies rated for sustainability by this global platform.

EcoVadis assesses the extent to which companies integrate sustainability and CSR principles into their business and management systems, analyzing their performance in environmental, social, and ethical criteria using a methodology based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the UN Global Compact, and ISO 26000. The sustainability assessment form covers 21 indicators in four areas: environment, ethics, labor practices and human rights, and sustainable procurement.

According to Anecoop’s president, Alejandro Monzón, “The upward trend in the rating achieved in 2025 reflects the seriousness with which we take our sustainability strategy, which we approach from a comprehensive and cross-cutting perspective. Being ranked among the top 8% of global companies, according to EcoVadis, encourages us to continue moving forward and improving, accompanying and guiding our partners along this path, aware that sustainability is the way to ensure agriculture in the present and the future.”

Anecoop, a pioneer in sustainability

The concept of sustainability is intrinsically rooted in Anecoop’s founding cooperative values. By joining the United Nations Global Compact in 2020, it consolidated its commitment to sustainability, a commitment reinforced by the launch in 2023, in collaboration with Kiwa R&D&I, of the Anecoop Sustainability Observatory.

This pioneering initiative measures, evaluates, and transforms data into actionable knowledge through advanced methodologies. It is a key tool and a reference framework for assessing impacts, identifying potential improvements in the agri-food system, and aligning the strategies of Anecoop’s cooperatives and partner companies with the Sustainable Development Goals, the European Green Deal, and ESG policies.

A comprehensive platform that combines research, data analysis, and training, which includes the Anecoop Sustainability Campus, a space designed to train technicians from cooperatives and partner companies and promote the development of new professional skills.
